Commission Status!

Open for commissions as of July 8th, 2008! This is subject to change at any time.

Commission Information!

The concept is simple: You ask me to create something for you and I will do so for a fair and reasonable price! I'm available to do the following types of commissions:

  • Hand-drawn 2D drawings, i.e. pencil and digital drawings
  • Ink illustrations, i.e. pencil drawings with inked lines
  • Black and white illustrations
  • Color illustrations
  • Basic photo manipulation, i.e, image editing, photo retouches
  • Basic graphic design, i.e., banners and icons
  • Basic web design, i.e., HTML pages
  • Basic video editing
  • Basic motion graphics

How do you commission me for a piece of art? I'll A-BREAK IT DOWN for ya!

  1. Please e-mail me at jenreconATgmailDOTcom (Please insert appropriate symbols) with your commission request. Remember that I have to be open for commissions at the time the e-mail is sent (See above section). Your e-mail should include a description of what you want plus reference pictures, if possible.

  2. I will review your request; if I feel it's a go, I will e-mail you a quote of the commission price. The price will depend on factors such as the complexity of the piece and materials used, as well as personal or business use.

  3. I must recieve exactly half of the price quote I give you before I start anything! This is simply a precautionary measure; I have read about many artists and designers having customers running off with finished pieces and never seeing a dime.

  4. I'll show you the work-in-progress (Watermarked) from time to time and will make any changes, if you wish. Keep in mind, an additional fee will be required if I have to start the entire piece over again; the "restart" fee will vary, depending on how much work has already been completed.

  5. Once the piece is entirely finished, I will request the remainder of the payment.

  6. After I recieve the remainder of the payment, I will mail and/or e-mail you your piece! Digital work will be sent as the original high-resolution file and any other file format you wish it to be in.

  7. If you wish to cancel the commission, the commission will be closed indefinitely and any progress done up to that point will NOT be finished or sent to you. There will be no refund given for the first half of the payment; of course, you will no longer be obligated to send me the remainder of the price quote.

In addition to all of this, before you request absolutely anything from me, *please* take a look at my galleries and see what my preferences are concerning style and execution! Check out some examples below (Opens in new window):

Example One! Example Two! Example Three!
Example Four! Example Five! Example Six!

It'll be much better for me to draw things I am familiar with. However, if you want me to try something outside my comfort zone, I'll be more than happy to give it a shot!

Commission Payment Information!

All payments must be paid through PayPal--it's the fastest, most secure way to pay online. Also, it's free!

To pay me through PayPal, please use my e-mail address jenreconATgmailDOTcom (Please insert appropriate symbols) and select "Services/Other" in the "Send Money For" box on the PayPal website. Payments can through PayPal can take 3-5 business days to clear.

I also take cold, hard cash... but only in-person!

Commission Restrictions!

There are a few very simple restrictions regarding commissions.

  1. If you request something that I see as "inappropriate", it shall be DE-NIED! Examples include subjects of an "adult" or racist or derogatory nature. Some "violent" subjects may be acceptable (i.e. zombie action!), but it really depends if the subject matter crosses the line for me.
  2. For legal reasons, I DO NOT do commissioned artwork of copyrighted characters! Not only is it illegal, but I want people to buy art of my own creations, not of someone else's!
  3. I work strictly on a non-speculative basis; according to the website NO!SPEC: "...spec requires the designer to invest time and resources with no guarantee of payment". Simply put, I *DON'T* WORK FOR FREE! This applies to ALL commissions and freelance work. For more details on this very important matter, both for potential clients *AND* working artists, please visit the NO!SPEC website.

Thanks in advance!
