Hi! I'm Jen! Recon is my real last name; people think it's pretty rad.

I'm a 22-year-old Filipina-American; I'm also a geek, possibly a nerd and maybe even a dork. Besides being an arteest, I would be best described as the following: avid gamer, toy collector, novice electric guitarist/ukulelist/ocarinist, skateboard n00b and traceuse hopeful.

I've been drawing it up ever since I could pick up a pencil and I haven't stopped since. I could write some long-winded story about my relationship with art, but let's just say I love it, it's what I've always been good at and I won't ever stop. Legends like Robert McKimson, Chuck Jones and Tex Avery were my earliest teachers. Growing up, Akira Toriyama, Tetsuya Nomura and Hayao Miyazaki became my greatest inspirations. Now, dudes like Omar Dogan, Corey Lewis, Simone Legno and Jorby Alano motivate me everyday.

I love things like character illos, urban/street art, vinyl figures, art books, clean-line graphic design and cool/funky fonts. Check out my art, photos and videos and you'll find more about me!

For the curious, I normally arm myself with: Prismacolor graphite 2B pencils, black Sharpie fine-point pens, Faber-Castell Pitt pens and a Wacom Intuos3 9x12 tablet and pen. While I love Adobe Photoshop CS, my primary means of drawing and coloring is through Corel Painter Essentials 3.
